Getting started

What is The Crypto Rabbit Hole TCG?

A free trading card game set in the world of The Crypto Rabbit Hole®. You build three Blockchain lanes with your Oracles, fill each lane's DEX with Ciphers, and use Bullish, Bearish and Reaction cards to speed yourself up or slow your opponent down. It plays in your browser on phone, tablet or computer, against Sandy (the computer), a friend on the same device, or players online.

Is it free to play?

Yes. You can play every mode, earn every theme deck, level up, complete quests and badges, play Decrypt and climb the leaderboards without paying anything or owning any crypto.

What's for sale is optional: cosmetic bundles, two theme decks you can also earn, Mining Rigs for Decrypt and the HODL Club membership. There are no loot boxes: everything you can buy shows exactly what's in it. Card packs are a separate, optional thing sold by Deck-0 (see Deck-0 & NFTs).

What do I need to play? Is there an app?

Just a modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox or Brave) at tcg.thecryptorabbithole.io. Nothing to download.

To keep it on your home screen like an app: on iPhone or iPad, tap Share → Add to Home Screen in Safari; on Android, tap the browser menu and Install app or Add to Home screen. It opens full screen with the CxRH coin as its icon.

How do I learn to play?
  • Tutorial: Sandy walks you through a real game, step by step.
  • How to play: the rules, turn by turn, from the main menu.
  • The Academy: the crypto glossary behind the cards, a daily quiz and Decrypt.
  • Play vs Sandy: practise against the computer at your own pace.
What game modes are there?
  • Play vs Sandy: you against the computer. Works even with a patchy connection.
  • Play Online: Quick Match pairs you with another player, or create a private room and share its code with a friend.
  • Pass & play: two players taking turns on one device.
  • Tutorial: a guided first game with Sandy.
Is there an age limit?

You need to be 13 or older to play, and under-18s need a parent or guardian's permission to buy anything. See our terms.

How to play

How do I win?

Be the first to complete three lanes. A lane is complete when it has an Oracle 1.0 on your Blockchain and at least 4 Ciphers of that Oracle's set in the DEX row beside it. Upgrades help, but you don't need them to win.

You can also lose by going REKT: if you can no longer reach 12 useful Ciphers (in your Hot Wallet, hand and on the board), you get a warning and three of your turns to recover. Forfeiting also counts as a loss, and if both players win or lose at the same moment, it's a draw.

What is Adoption at the start of a game?

Every game starts with Adoption. Each turn you search up to 20 cards from your Hot Wallet (your deck) looking for the Enter The Crypto Rabbit Hole® card. When you find it, you play it to your CxRH Wallet, shuffle everything back and draw 6 cards. You're in, and your normal turns begin. If you didn't find it, those cards go to your Burn Wallet and you try again next turn.

Whoever adopts first goes first. If you both adopt in the same round, you each roll the die and the higher roll goes first.

What happens on a turn?
  1. Draw one card.
  2. Historacle effects: activate one of your Historacles, if you have one.
  3. Oracle effects: use an Oracle 3.0 special ability.
  4. Oracle / Historacle: play one Oracle, upgrade or Historacle.
  5. Cipher: place one Cipher (some cards give extra placements).
  6. Action: play one Bullish or Bearish Action.
  7. End: if you hold more than 10 cards, choose which to burn down to 10.

You can skip any step you don't need, and the optional Auto-skip setting passes steps where you have nothing to play.

What are the card types?
  • Enter The Crypto Rabbit Hole® (CxRH): exactly one in every deck. You need it to start (Adoption).
  • Oracles (Aida, Lana, Nifty, Sats): 1.0 opens a lane; 2.0 and 3.0 upgrade it and unlock abilities.
  • Ciphers: fill the DEX row of their Oracle's set. Four in a lane completes it.
  • Historacles (Sats, Gann, Fibonacci, Elliott, Dow): legendary market minds with powerful effects, played to your Sidechain or Cold Wallet.
  • Bullish Actions: help you. Bearish Actions: hurt your opponent.
  • Reactions: played on your opponent's turn to cancel their card, such as Blocked By 2FA, F.U.D., Stop Loss and De-Fy!
How do Oracle upgrades work?

An Oracle 2.0 goes on top of its matching 1.0 once that lane's DEX holds at least 2 of its Ciphers. A 3.0 goes on the 2.0 once the lane has at least 3. A 3.0's special ability can be used from your next turn, once per turn for each 3.0 card.

How do Reactions work?

When your opponent plays a Bullish or Bearish Action, or uses an Oracle 3.0 ability, you get a short window to react. Each Reaction cancels only what its text says: Blocked By 2FA stops a Bearish Action, F.U.D. stops a Bullish one, Stop Loss stops a 3.0 ability, and De-Fy! cancels another Reaction (and can itself be De-Fy!'d). Costs already paid aren't refunded when a card is cancelled.

Copy-Trader Fail is special: after your opponent removes one of your DEX Ciphers, you can make them lose one of theirs the same way.

What's the difference between Classic and Open?

Classic decks have no Historacles. Open decks contain at least one. Online, Classic players are only matched with Classic players and Open with Open, so nobody meets a Historacle deck unless they're playing one. Prize events will be Classic, so they're decided on skill, not on owning premium cards.

Is online play fair? Can anyone cheat?

Online matches run on our server, not in either player's browser. The server deals the cards, rolls the dice, checks every move against the rules and decides the result. Each player is only ever sent their own hand: your opponent's hand, deck order and shuffles stay hidden. If your connection drops, you can reconnect to your seat.

How do the leaderboards work?

Online results count toward the leaderboards: wins, win rate (after 10 games), best win streak, lanes completed, Reactions played and fastest win. Weekly boards reset every Monday at midnight (Adelaide time), and there are all-time boards too. You need to sign in to appear on them.

Decks & collection

Which decks can I play with?

Everyone starts with the Starter Deck (Aida, Lana and Nifty). More ready-made theme decks unlock as you play, through badges in your Journey, for example:

  • Sats Stack: finish 3 matches. Aida Algorithm: finish 10.
  • Lana Liquidity: win 3 matches.
  • Bull Run and Bear Market: play 25 Bullish or 25 Bearish Actions.
  • Cipher Surge: put 50 Ciphers on your DEX.
  • Whale Watch, Oracle Ascension and Reactor Core from other badges.

Open Badges in the game to see exactly what each one unlocks. HODL Club members also get the three Club decks built around Historacles.

What are the deck-building rules?

A deck is exactly 56 cards, including exactly one Enter The Crypto Rabbit Hole® card, with at most 2 copies of any card name. Different rarities and art versions of the same card are the same card for this limit. Decks are checked when you save them and again when a match starts.

How do I get the Deck Builder, and how many decks can I build?
  • 1 deck: earn the Deck Builder badge (own 3 theme decks and finish 15 matches).
  • 6 decks: link a wallet that holds Crypto Rabbit Hole game cards from Deck-0.
  • 12 decks: while you're a HODL Club member.

You build with the cards you have: the cards in your theme decks, this month's Club Historacle if you're a member, and every game card your linked wallet holds on Deck-0 (each copy you hold counts).

What is the Library?

The Library shows every card in The Crypto Rabbit Hole collection, in every rarity and art version (352 card-and-rarity combinations, plus the Storyline cards), with each card's story. Cards you hold on Deck-0 light up with how many you have; everything else stays locked until you collect it. Filter by type, set or version to track what you're missing.

Do rarer cards play better?

No. Rarity (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary) and art versions are for collecting and show-off only. Every version of a card plays exactly the same.

How do I equip boards, dice, card backs and other items?

Open Collection from the main menu, pick a category (avatars, frames, boards, dice, card backs, sleeves, first-player tokens, emotes or wallpapers) and tap an item you own to equip it. The first item you get of each kind is equipped for you. Items marked Coming soon can't be equipped yet.

Profile pictures and frames need you to be signed in.

Can my opponent see my board and cosmetics?

Yes. Online, your opponent sees the board, dice, card back, sleeves and first-player token you have equipped, and you see theirs.

Rewards & Decrypt

What are Carats and XP?

Carats are the game's currency for the weekly Shop. You earn them from the daily login, quests, matches, levelling up and badges. They can't be bought, sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and they have no value outside the game.

XP levels you up: 120 for a win, 80 for a draw and 60 for a loss, plus 50 for each quest. Every level pays 500 Carats.

How does the daily login calendar work?

Claim a reward once a day on a 28-day calendar. Ordinary days pay Carats that grow through the month, and the big days pay collectable items. Your first calendar is the ApeChain Set:

  • Day 7: the ApeChain glass frame. Day 10: a wallpaper. Day 14: an emote. Day 21: ApeChain dice.
  • Day 28: the ApeChain board, card back and first-player button.

When a 28-day run finishes, the next set begins (Esoteria Neon is next).

Do streaks matter? What if I miss a day?
  • Your streak adds up to +100 Carats a day.
  • Each week you get one shield that saves your streak if you miss a single day.
  • Play a match on the same day and that day's login Carats are doubled.
  • A 7-day streak also gives a free Decrypt card each day, and a 14-day streak gives three.

The calendar day itself never resets: miss a day and you simply carry on from where you were.

What are daily quests and badges?

Every day you get three quests (such as "Win a match" or "Play 2 Reactions") worth 100–250 Carats and 50 XP each. Your first 10 matches each day also pay Carats.

Badges are long-term goals with tiers from Bronze to Mythic. Each tier pays Carats, and some unlock theme decks, the Deck Builder or avatars.

What is Decrypt?

Decrypt is the monthly tap game in the Academy. Tap to shuffle the deck; every 500 taps draws a real CxRH card. Duplicates level your cards up and add Power, which makes every tap worth more Hash. Bearish cards can cost you Hash or pause part of the game, and Reactions you've drawn act as shields against them.

In the Earn tab you learn crypto glossary terms with Hash; each one then earns Hash every hour, even while you're away. Energy refills over time, and Mining Rigs tap for you.

What's the monthly Decrypt prize?

Each month has one prize, unlocked when your decryption work reaches 1,000,000 Hash. October 2026's is The Historacles board, and other months have their own board and dice sets; the Decrypt screen shows the current one. The prize's art starts hidden and is revealed as you progress, with your progress shown as a percentage. Taps, card draws, the daily quiz, the Daily Word and your first five TCG matches each day all count.

On the 1st of each month comes the Halving: card levels, glossary term levels and your Hash balance halve, and a new prize begins. Past months' prizes can be picked up later for Carats, cheaper the more of them you decrypted.

What are the daily quiz and the Daily Word?

Both are in the Academy. The quiz asks questions from the crypto glossary; right answers pay Hash and level up that term for free. The Daily Word is a word puzzle with a new crypto word each day, worth 5,000 Hash when you solve it.

Can I use an auto-clicker in Decrypt?

No. The server counts taps and refuses anything faster than a person can tap. After 5,000 taps a day, taps are worth less. Bots, scripts and exploits break our terms and can cost you your rewards. Mining Rigs are the fair way to tap while you're away.

Deck-0 card packs & NFTs

What is Deck-0?

Deck-0 is a digital trading-card platform where The Crypto Rabbit Hole's official card collection is sold in packs. Each card you pull is a collectible recorded on ApeChain, owned by you in your wallet, and it fills your album and rank on Deck-0.

How do I buy card packs?
  1. Open The Crypto Rabbit Hole collection on Deck-0 (or tap Card packs in the game).
  2. Sign in to Deck-0 with one of its sign-in options and set up your profile.
  3. Buy a pack. Packs are US$5, listed in US dollars and paid in ApeChain's own currency (APE) at checkout, plus a small network fee. Check the total before you confirm: purchases are final.
  4. Open it to reveal five cards. They're added to your Deck-0 collection and album.
  5. Back in the game, link the wallet that holds them to play with your cards.

Packs are sold by Deck-0 under Deck-0's own terms; for help with a purchase, contact Deck-0. Their guide is at app.deck-0.com/guide.

What's in a pack?

Five random cards from The Crypto Rabbit Hole collection: Oracles, Historacles, Ciphers, Actions, Reactions and Storyline cards, in five rarities from Common to Legendary, including signature and alternate-art versions. Every card also has its own serial number.

Do I need NFTs or crypto to play?

No. The whole game is free to play without a wallet. Deck-0 cards are an optional extra for collectors.

What do my Deck-0 cards do in the game?
  • They appear in your Library, by rarity and version.
  • Each copy you hold adds to the cards you can build decks with, and holding any game card gives you 6 deck slots.
  • Holding Sats the Historacle opens the Satoshi's Legacy deck.

Cards count while they're in your linked wallet. If they leave it, decks that need them fall back to the Starter deck until you hold them again. Tap Refresh cards in your Profile after buying or opening new packs.

Do I really own my cards?

Yes: your Deck-0 cards are tokens held in your own wallet on ApeChain, not in our game. We can't take, move or change them. What you own is the collectible itself; the artwork, characters and The Crypto Rabbit Hole® brand stay the property of Crypto Rabbit Hole Productions, as with any trading card.

Game items (boards, dice, card backs and so on) and Carats are different: they're part of your game account, not tokens, and can't be sold or transferred.

Will my cards go up in value?

Collect them because you enjoy them. Digital collectibles and crypto-assets are risky and their value can fall to nothing. Nothing in the game, including its glossary, quizzes and characters, is financial, investment or tax advice.

Account, profile & saving

Do I need an account?

No. You start as a guest straight away and your progress is saved. Signing in with your email is free and lets you keep your progress safe, play on more than one device, choose a profile picture and frame, and appear on the leaderboards.

How do I sign in? Is there a password?

There's no password to remember or leak. Open your Profile, enter your email, and we send you a 6-digit code. Type it in and you're signed in. Codes work once and expire after 10 minutes.

Your guest progress comes with you when you create your account. If you sign in to an account you already have, that account's progress is kept.

Will I stay signed in?

Yes, on each device you sign in on. Reloads, updates and server restarts don't sign you out. A sign-in lasts 90 days from the last time you played on that device, and Sign out ends it straight away.

Where is my progress saved?

On our server. Your levels, Carats, items, decks, Decrypt and stats are stored there and checked there, so they follow you to any device you sign in on and can't be edited by anyone else. Your browser keeps a copy so screens open instantly.

The game moved to a new address. Did I lose anything?

No. In October 2026 the game moved from thecryptorabbithole.io/tcg to its own address, tcg.thecryptorabbithole.io, for extra security. Your account, progress, items, linked wallet and leaderboard places are all on our server and carried over. Old links redirect automatically. Because browsers keep sign-ins per address, you may need to sign in once more with your email code.

Can I change my name or delete my account?

Change your name, picture and frame in your Profile. Names must not impersonate anyone or be offensive. You can delete your account from your Profile at any time; it removes your account and progress. See our privacy policy for what we keep and why.

What do you do with my email and data?

We use your email only to sign you in. We don't sell your data, and the game has no advertising trackers. The full details are in our privacy policy.

Wallets & safety

Is connecting my wallet safe? What can the game do with it?

Linking is read-only. The game reads the public ApeChain record of which Crypto Rabbit Hole cards your wallet holds, and that's all. It never asks your wallet to send, approve, transfer, list or swap anything. The game's code blocks every wallet request except "connect" and the single sign-in message, so it couldn't ask for a transaction even by mistake.

We store only your wallet's public address, never keys, seed phrases or funds. Even if someone broke into our server, there would be nothing there that could move your cards or crypto.

Why do I have to sign a message? Does it cost anything?

Signing proves the wallet is yours, so nobody can link someone else's wallet to their account. It's free: it's not a transaction, uses no gas, moves no funds and grants no approvals. It follows Sign-In with Ethereum (EIP-4361), the standard that wallets understand and check.

Before you sign, check that it:

  • starts with tcg.thecryptorabbithole.io wants you to sign in with your Ethereum account;
  • says Signing is free: it sends no transaction, moves no funds and grants no approvals;
  • shows URI: https://tcg.thecryptorabbithole.io/ and Chain ID: 33139 (ApeChain).

Each message has a one-time code and expires after 5 minutes, so a signature can't be reused.

What will the game never ask me for?

If any of these ever happen, stop: it isn't us.

  • Your seed phrase (recovery phrase) or private key, ever, anywhere.
  • To approve, permit, set approval for all, transfer or send anything, or to confirm a transaction.
  • To pay gas or a fee to "verify", "claim", "sync" or "unlock" your cards.
  • A DM from "support" asking you to connect your wallet. Our team never DMs you first.
How do I know I'm on the real site?

The only official game is tcg.thecryptorabbithole.io. Check the address bar and the name your wallet shows before connecting. Scam sites copy the look of a game, but they can't fake the address: your wallet shows the real website name in every request, and our game refuses to link wallets anywhere else and shows a red warning if it's opened on another address. Bookmark the game, and don't follow links from DMs.

Which wallets work? Can I link more than one?

Any Ethereum-compatible wallet that supports ApeChain and signing messages, such as MetaMask, Rabby or Coinbase Wallet. Smart-contract wallets that can't sign a plain message aren't supported yet.

You can link one wallet per account, and each wallet can be linked to only one account. To switch, tap Disconnect in your Profile and connect the other.

How else do you protect players?
  • Its own address: the game lives on its own subdomain, separate from every other page, so nothing else can reach your sign-in or your wallet in the game's name.
  • Only our code runs: a strict security policy lets the page run only our own scripts and talk only to our own server. No third-party scripts, ads or trackers.
  • Encrypted, always: HTTPS only, and the game can't be framed inside another site.
  • No passwords: email codes expire in 10 minutes and allow only five tries. Sign-ins are stored only as one-way fingerprints, never the sign-in itself.
  • Payments: handled by Stripe. We never see your card number.
How can I protect my own account and wallet?
  • Secure the email you sign in with: use a strong password and two-factor authentication, because anyone who can read your email can sign in as you.
  • Keep your seed phrase offline and never type it into any website.
  • Consider using a separate wallet just for collectibles, apart from your main funds.
  • Review and revoke old token approvals in your wallet from time to time.
  • If something looks wrong, ask in our Discord before you sign.
I saw a scam or suspicious site. What should I do?

Don't connect or sign anything. Tell us on Discord or at info@thecryptorabbithole.io with the link, and we'll warn the community. If you already signed something unexpected, move your assets to a new wallet and revoke approvals.

Shop & HODL Club

What's in the Shop?

Each week the Shop offers six items for Carats and two featured bundles, the same for everyone, changing every Monday. Bundles are sold for real money with fixed contents shown up front: Historacle Collections, character sets, the Bull Run and Bear Market theme decks (which you can also earn) and Mining Rigs for Decrypt. Prices are in Australian dollars, including GST where it applies.

Paid purchases are opening soon. Until then, the Shop shows what's coming and Carat items work as normal.

Are there loot boxes or random paid rewards?

Never. Everything you buy in the game shows exactly what's in it. (Deck-0 card packs are random by design, like physical trading cards, but they're sold by Deck-0 and are entirely optional.)

What is the HODL Club?

An optional monthly membership (A$7.99 a month). While you're a member you get:

  • this month's Legendary Historacle to build with (it rotates through all five);
  • the three Club decks: Satoshi's Legacy, Satoshi's Vault and Nifty Network (Open format);
  • 12 deck slots in the Deck Builder;
  • +300 Carats with every daily login;
  • a Decrypt boost and longer Earn storage.

Cancel any time from the Shop ("Manage or cancel"). You keep the benefits until the end of the month you've paid for.

How do refunds work?

See our refund policy. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law always apply. Card packs bought on Deck-0 are handled by Deck-0.
